Chaosbreed: Hail DarkMortem, welcome to ChaosBreed e-zine, can you please start this interview by introducing the band members in Archean Harmony. How and when did the band start?
Archean Harmony was formed on a cold night of January '95, by Lord Trebor (Guitars/Piano) and me (Vocals/Keyboards). We had many line-up changes, this was mainly due to the band's philosophies. At one point the band's future was uncertain and the band took a break of several months. During that time the band changed it's rehearsal place and started again with its founding members. In March '97 Adrameleck (Guitars) joined forces and a few months later a drum programmer was added to the line-up. The band with a session bassist released its debut demo. Later the drum programmer was fired and in the meantime a drummer and bassist are rehearsing with the band.
Chaosbreed: I was
highly impressed by your talent, once you hear your music you'll notice
that you know what the hell you're doing, what are your influences? (talking
generally). Who writes the music and what are the
lyrics about?
Our influences come
from different genres of music, but our biggest influences come from our
dark emotions. We don't want to be a trendy band and it is pointless and
a waste of time to do something other bands already
do. We combine all
our influences and create our own style, which we define as Archaic/Blackmetal.
The music is written by Lord Trebor and Adrameleck, but with all arrangements
done by Lord Trebor.
I wrote all the
lyrics so far, and they deal with Satanic philosophy & rituals and
the Black Arts.
Chaosbreed: You are going to release your debut demo, right? What is it entitled and how many tracks you're gonna have on it? Can you please give us more info about it?
The demo is out and
is entitled "Resentment of an Evanesce Aeon". It contains 3 tracks plus
an intro to the second one. The first two tracks are the very first written
by the band but arranged during last summer, and the
Chaosbreed: Archean
Harmony is the only Black metal act that hails from Malta, what do you
think about this? Do you see it as an advantage or disadvantage? Do you
think in the future there'll be more black metal acts?
Being the only blackmetal
band in Malta irritates a lot of people. Some tried to do what we are doing
and they all failed. People hate and fear us because we are true. Living
in a christian country is not easy and those "loving" christians have showed
us their affection. But we don't give a fuck about them since they are
cowards. On the other hand we get a lot of respect from many bands and
being the only blackmetal band puts more
The demo was ready
this week so we are still sending our stuff. We had a good feed back from
Magus Vampire Daoloth of Hypervorea, whom we met personally and who listened
to our pre release. I think if you live in Malta it is very hard to get
signed. Malta produces some of the best bands around but some labels are
interested in average bands from bigger countries. It is early to say what
to expect from Archaean Harmony! Time will tell! Chaosbreed: I know
you are hugely into occult, right? Do you consider occult a big thing in
your life? Do you practice a lot and are you, or any other member in Archean
Harmony, a part of any sect?
For me it's a way
of life, so it means a lot to me. We are not involved in any "sect", but
we have contact with various orders. Even though we are not members in
the Church of Satan we follow its philosophy and teachings.
Chaosbreed: If that
Guy…ummm what's his name?…yeah…Jesus Christ shows up in your rehearsal
room and start shouting at you and the rest of the band for being so nasty
and blasphemous, what do you do?
Ummm, eh....you mean
that crucified cunt. Well if that son of a bitch comes to our rehearsal,
which I doubt he will be able to!, then it will be the last thing he would
have done!
Chaosbreed: What
do you think of the current Maltese underground scene, let's say compared
to three years ago?
Three years ago more
people attended to concerts, but look where these people are! They were
just posers who follow trends. The bands of today are much better and there
are more different styles then three years ago, the majority of which where
doom/death. Still quite a lot of people turn out to concerts today.
Chaosbreed: Thanks
for doing the interview DarkMortem, last words are yours… plug your shit.

attention on us.
Being in Malta it is a disadvantage, whatever music you play, but again
who gives a fuck about Malta. In other countries it is an advantage for
Blackmetal bands, where Blackmetal has grown, maybe too much.
Chaosbreed: Once
your demo is out, what can we expect from Archean Harmony? Did you already
start contacting labels and distros? Do you think is it hard to get signed
these days?
